Anchored — Support
Questions, bugs, ideas: support@mirandesystems.com. We answer every message.
In the app, About Anchored → Send feedback starts the email for you, with your app and iOS versions filled in.
Requirements
Anchored needs an iPhone (iOS 17.6 or later) paired with an Apple Watch (watchOS 10.6 or later). You build routines on the iPhone, and the Watch runs them. Without a Watch, routines can't be run.
Getting set up
How do I install the Watch app?
It often installs on its own. If it isn't on your Watch yet:
- On your iPhone, open the Watch app.
- Scroll to Available Apps and tap Install next to Anchored.
You can also open the App Store on your Watch and search for Anchored.
My routine doesn't show up on the Watch.
Open Anchored on your Watch after saving the routine on your iPhone. Keep the two devices near each other the first time. If it still doesn't appear, open Anchored on your iPhone again. It sends everything to the Watch each time it opens.
Where is the Short version?
The Short version runs only the steps that can't be skipped. It's for busy days, and it still counts.
- On your iPhone, open the routine and tap a step you always do.
- Turn off Allow skipping. Leave it on for the steps that are nice to have.
- Save the routine.
On your Watch, the routine's Start screen then shows a Short button with its length, just below Start. It appears only when some steps can be skipped and some can't. New steps start with Allow skipping on, so a routine built from scratch has no Short version until you change one. The templates come set up this way. On the iPhone, the note under the steps shows the Short version's length, or what to change to get one.
During a routine
What do the taps mean?
You feel a tap when a routine starts and each time it moves to the next step. A heads-up tap comes about 10 seconds before a step ends (on steps of 20 seconds or more). If a step is set to Wait for me to tap Done, its timer stops at 0:00 and waits, with a gentle tap each minute, up to three. To make the step-change tap lighter or firmer, open the routine on your iPhone and pick Soft, Medium or Strong under Haptics.
How do I pause, skip or stop early?
Swipe up on the step screen. You'll find Pause, Done early, Skip (on steps that allow skipping) and, once you've finished a step, Finish and save. Finish and save ends the routine and keeps the steps you did. It still counts. Stop without saving ends it without logging anything.
On watchOS 11 or later, Double Tap presses the button on the step screen (Done early, Done or Resume). It works on Apple Watch Series 9 and later, Ultra 2 and later, and SE 3.
I don't feel the taps when my wrist is down.
While a routine runs, Anchored stays active for up to an hour, so it can tap you with the screen off. If you press the Digital Crown, switch apps, or the routine runs past an hour, the remaining step changes arrive as notifications instead (without the 10-second heads-up). Make sure notifications are allowed for Anchored on your Watch. Anchored asks the first time you open it there, and a routine's Start screen tells you if they're off.
Should I press the Digital Crown during a routine?
Better not. While Anchored is on screen (even with the screen off), it taps you itself. If you press the Crown or open another app, the remaining step changes arrive as notifications. They're on time as long as notifications are allowed and a Focus isn't silencing them. Open Anchored again and it catches up to where your routine is.
Reminders, watch face and streaks
How do reminders work?
On your iPhone, open the routine, turn on Scheduled reminder and pick a time. Choose the days under Runs on. The reminder rings on your Watch at that time on those days. It shows the routine's name, your anchor (like “After I pour coffee”) and how long it takes.
Tap the reminder, or tap Open, to go straight to that routine's Start screen. Snooze 10 min asks again in 10 minutes. After you change a reminder, open Anchored on your Watch once.
How do I put Anchored on my watch face?
- On your Watch, touch and hold the watch face, then tap Edit.
- Swipe to Complications and tap the slot you want.
- Choose Anchored.
- Press the Digital Crown to save, then tap the face.
For the Smart Stack, turn the Digital Crown (or swipe up) on the watch face. Touch and hold the stack (or tap Edit), tap +, then choose Anchored.
It shows your next routine, and its reminder time if it has one (with the day if it's a day or more away). After a run it moves on to your next routine. Once every routine with a reminder time is done for the day, it says Done today. If it says Open Anchored, open the app on your Watch once. Tap it to open that routine, ready to start.
How do streaks work?
A streak counts only the days you picked under Runs on. Miss one and it waits for you. Miss two in a row and it starts over. Every saved run counts, including the Short version and a run ended with Finish and save. Your day ends at 4 a.m., so a run just after midnight counts for the day before. Turn on Streak goal to set a number of days to aim for.
Purchases
What does the one-time unlock include?
Every Watch feature is free. The unlock adds unlimited routines and your full history. The free version includes one routine and the last 7 days of history. Older runs stay saved on your iPhone and show up when you unlock. It's a single purchase, not a subscription.
I bought the unlock but the app says I'm locked.
Open Anchored on your iPhone, scroll to the bottom of Routines and tap About Anchored, then Restore purchase. The unlock screen has a Restore purchase button too. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account (Apple ID) you used to buy.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your data
What happens to my routines when I get a new iPhone?
Your routines and history move with your iPhone backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup). Restore the backup to the new iPhone and pair your Watch. Then open Anchored on the iPhone, and then on the Watch, so it picks everything up. If the unlock doesn't show, use Restore purchase as described above.
How do I delete my data?
To remove one routine, touch and hold its card on Routines and tap Delete. Its history stays. To remove one run, swipe left on it in History.
To remove everything, delete Anchored from your iPhone and your Watch. Anchored keeps your routines and history on your devices and never sends them to us. Copies in your own iCloud or computer backups go away as those backups are replaced or deleted. See the privacy policy.
